Siskiyou Sungrown was founded in 2014, but our story goes back much further. For Cedar and Madrone Grey, what began as a long-standing appreciation for the healing power of cannabis became a personal quest to provide relief to a family member with a critical health issue many years ago. The question was not “if” but “how” to deliver the miraculous benefits of this amazing plant.
Grounded in the idea that anything we ingest should do no harm, most especially if its intention is therapeutic, the Greys committed to organic farming principles and non-toxic extraction methods in pursuit of the most pure cannabis product possible: high-quality decarboxylated, whole-plant, ethanol-extracted cannabis oil.
Originally operating under the legal medical cannabis channels (OMMP), selling directly to medical dispensaries, Cedar and Madrone built their business one customer at a time, personally making, selling, and distributing their special cannabis oil for medically-approved patients. When recreational use was implemented in 2016, Siskiyou Sungrown, now a thriving enterprise with a dozen employees and two separate grow sites, added OLCC-licensed dispensaries to their customer base.
Today, Siskiyou Sungrown is the standard-bearer for quality cannabis and hemp-derived CBD products. A team of cannabis committed professionals, utilizing degrees in biochemistry, soil science, engineering, health science, and geology, along with advanced study in entomology and permaculture, oversees the farming of our estate-grown plant materials. More than 20 employees and contractors work together to grow, process, sell, and deliver Siskiyou Sungrown products to retailers around the state.
We are our people. Our products would not be so effective without the good intentions of the good folks behind them. Simply put, every person on our team shares our founders’ vision; to produce the most effective, therapeutic, consciously crafted hemp and cannabis products in an ethical and sustainable way.
Cannabis cultivation experts with decades of combined experience, utilizing degrees in biochemistry, soil science, engineering, health science, and geology along with advanced study in entomology and permaculture, oversee the farming of the organically grown plant materials.

Founder & CEO
CEO Cedar Grey is a highly-regarded pioneer of the cannabis community, with more than 20 years of cannabis cultivation experience. He serves on the primary OLCC Recreational Marijuana Rules Advisory Committee, the Josephine County Cannabis Advisory Panel, is a founder and past president of Oregon Sungrown Growers’ Guild, and has recently been appointed to Governor Kate Brown’s newly formed Cannabis Commission. These positions have given him connections throughout the bureaucracy that deals with cannabis, and allows him to keep a finger on the pulse of the regulators. Cedar has an engineering degree, and a keen eye for mechanical processes and scientific analysis.
Madrone Grey, co-founder of Siskiyou Sungrown, came to cannabis medicine in the most meaningful way. Driven to help a family member with a serious health condition, she approached the challenge from a deep conviction that everything we need to thrive can be found in nature. Simply put, Madrone believes in plants. A long-time advocate of whole plant medicine, this mother of four set out to explore the healing power of cannabis with an unwavering commitment to helping others feel better. In fact, that ideal became our tagline.
