Siskiyou Sungrown uses only USP grade certified organic cane alcohol to extract cannabis oil.
We make this choice for many reasons.
With standard distillation techniques it is impossible to reduce the residual solvent concentration in Rick Simpson cannabis oil below 1%, and most RSO contains 2% – 3% residual solvent. If the solvent used was isopropyl alcohol rather than organic ethanol, then consumers will be ingesting a known poison instead of an organic medicine.
Organic certification requires integrated pest management practices (IPM). IPM practices protect wildlife, promote biodiversity, and improve and maintain native ecosystems. Organic farms support larger communities of bees, other pollinators, and songbirds. These practices conserve precious water and protect our streams and oceans from harmful chemical runoff that compromises aquatic habitats.
Organic production protects farmworkers from dangerous pesticides and herbicides that are know to be linked to birth defects, various forms of cancer , and other health problems, supporting healthy families and communities. With farmland disappearing and the family farmer struggling, the organic sector supports the revitalization of our rural economy and food production systems by sustaining healthy jobs and farmland.

In extreme heat conditions, hemp leaves droop and fold up in a protective measure. If the stress is not mediated, they will yellow and become crisp. Once a plant is matured, there’s not a lot of changes growers can make, warns Cedar Grey, founder of Siskiyou Sungrown, a CBD wellness product brand in Southern Oregon.
